The 50s were the heyday of the automobile with the chrome and the large fins. I am fascinated by vintage cars. I chose to base my design on a photo with a wonderful perspective.

Techniques: Fused appliqué, machine quilting and coloured pencil.

Abstract

This modern abstraction ties in the monochromatic retro colour scheme with a punch. The red bits signify the tail lights from then until now. The straight and narrow road lets us travel for generations to find that we still love and cherish those old tunes that sometime soothe and other times rock our socks off. 
Techniques:
Modern piecing, free motion quilting, satin stitch and facing.
